Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for cryptography and optimization challenges
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-correction protocols for quantum systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit coherence times and gate fidelity
- Translate quantum theoretical models into practical industry applications
- Mentor junior researchers and PhD candidates in quantum methodologies
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm design (Shor's, Grover's, QAOA)
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent quantum computing journals
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum hardware
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research grants
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
