Job Description
Are you ready to shape the future of the web?
Nexus Future Labs is seeking a visionary Senior WebAssembly Engineer to join our elite engineering team. As we build the next generation of polyglot architectures, we are looking for individuals who are not just writing code, but defining the standards for the Web 4.0 era. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-performance backend systems and the browser, enabling complex computations to run at near-native speeds directly in the user's device.
Join us in pioneering the shift towards edge computing and zero-latency web experiences. You will work with a team of world-class engineers to optimize memory management, build efficient toolchains, and deploy secure, scalable solutions that redefine user interaction.
Why Join Us?
- Work on bleeding-edge technology used by Fortune 500 companies.
- Competitive compensation package with equity options.
- Flexible remote-first culture with a hub in the heart of San Francisco.
- Continuous learning opportunities with access to the latest in Rust and systems programming.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance WebAssembly modules using Rust, C++, or Go.
- Implement and maintain the WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) to bridge native and web ecosystems.
- Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to refactor monolithic applications into efficient, distributed polyglot architectures.
- Optimize memory usage and execution speed within the WebAssembly linear memory model.
- Build and maintain toolchains for compiling high-level languages down to Wasm bytecode.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices for systems programming.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years specifically in WebAssembly or high-performance computing.
- Expert proficiency in Rust, C++, or Go, with a deep understanding of their memory models.
- Strong grasp of JavaScript/TypeScript and how to integrate Wasm modules into the browser environment.
- Experience with the WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) and WebGPU.
- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance profiling tools (e.g., perf, flamegraphs).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
