Responsibilities
- Lead scenario planning for 2026+ technological disruptions in AI, quantum computing, and synthetic biology
- Develop predictive models mapping emerging tech trends to market opportunities
- Design strategic roadmaps for R&D investments aligned with 2026 industry forecasts
- Present future-state visions to executive stakeholders and board members
- Establish cross-functional innovation sprints with engineering and product teams
- Build and mentor a futurist research unit focused on horizon scanning
- Author annual 'Future State' reports for public and stakeholder consumption
Qualifications
- 10+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or emerging tech research
- Proven track record of translating future trends into business strategy
- Deep expertise in at least two emerging tech domains (AI/ML, quantum, biotech)
- Experience advising Fortune 500 companies on 5-10 year strategic planning
- Exceptional data storytelling and executive presentation skills
- Published thought leadership in futurism or technology forecasting
- Advanced degree in Futures Studies, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Certification in strategic foresight (e.g., CFCS, APF) preferred
