We seek a visionary Senior Futurist to architect our strategic roadmap for emerging technologies including quantum computing, neural interfaces, and sustainable AI. This role demands a blend of technical acumen and foresight to translate future possibilities into actionable blueprints for our Fortune 500 partners. You'll lead cross-functional teams in Austin's thriving innovation ecosystem while influencing global tech policy discussions.
Responsibilities
- Architect 2026 Initiative's technology foresight framework using scenario planning and trend analysis
- Lead R&D partnerships with MIT, Stanford, and ETH Zurich for next-gen prototypes
- Translate complex future-tech concepts into investor-ready whitepapers and roadmaps
- Chair quarterly Future Council meetings with C-suite executives from aerospace, biotech, and energy sectors
- Develop ethical governance protocols for autonomous systems and quantum applications
- Represent InnovateHorizon at Davos, Web Summit, and SX Future conferences
- Mentor a team of 5 junior futurists and PhD researchers
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic foresight, R&D leadership, or emerging tech consulting
- Published peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science or equivalent journals
- Proven track record of scaling technologies from lab to market (e.g., AWS, SpaceX)
- Expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or decentralized systems
- Deep understanding of regulatory landscapes (FDA, FCC, EU AI Act)
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Arabic for global stakeholder engagement
- PhD in Physics, Computational Biology, or Futurology preferred
