Responsibilities
- Lead Weekend Operations: Execute high-priority system maintenance, patch deployments, and security updates during the designated weekend window to minimize downtime.
- Infrastructure Monitoring: Proactively monitor server health, database performance, and API response times to ensure 99.9% uptime for our clients.
- Critical Incident Response: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical escalations during off-peak hours, utilizing advanced debugging skills to resolve issues swiftly.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize backend code and database queries to handle increased load and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create comprehensive runbooks, technical documentation, and training materials for recurring maintenance procedures.
- Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers and QA teams to align weekend deployment schedules with product roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in backend software development, preferably in a 24/7 or shift-based environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go; strong experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture.
- Database Management: Advanced knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and experience with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis).
- Cloud Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex system issues under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
