Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures using superconducting qubits
- Develop cryogenic control systems maintaining millikelvin environments for quantum processors
- Create quantum-classical hybrid computing frameworks for enterprise applications
- Lead quantum network security protocols for distributed quantum computing systems
- Optimize quantum error correction codes for real-world deployment scenarios
- Collaborate with quantum algorithm teams to translate theoretical models into deployable infrastructure
- Document quantum system performance metrics and failure analysis protocols
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field (MS with 5+ years experience considered)
- Expertise in quantum computing hardware including superconducting circuits or trapped ions
- Proficiency with cryogenic engineering and dilution refrigerator systems
- Experience with quantum error correction codes (surface codes, color codes)
- Strong programming skills in Python/C++ with quantum computing libraries (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Knowledge of quantum networking protocols and quantum key distribution systems
- Published research in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals or conferences
- US citizenship required for government contract compliance
