Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error-correction techniques for fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to validate quantum processor performance
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
- Secure research funding through NSF and industry partnerships
- Participate in quantum security protocol development
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- Expertise in quantum algorithms and quantum information theory
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Publication record in quantum computing or condensed matter physics
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum systems
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra and probability
- Demonstrated ability to work in interdisciplinary teams
- Security clearance eligibility preferred
