Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant computing systems
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize qubit coherence times and gate fidelities
- Publish research in Nature Physics/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information with 3+ years postdoc experience
- Published research in top quantum computing journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and decoherence mitigation
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Demonstrated success in securing NSF or DARPA quantum grants
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or photonic quantum processors
- Strong background in linear algebra and computational complexity theory
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into experimental prototypes
