Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and cryptography applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-corrected quantum processors and control systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software with physical qubit implementations
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier quantum computing journals and conferences
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for next-gen AI applications
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from DARPA and NSF
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics with 5+ years of quantum research experience
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent-tier journals on quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proven track record of translating theoretical quantum models into practical implementations
- Experience securing government or corporate research funding ($1M+ preferred)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and many-body quantum systems
- Ability to work with diverse teams across physics, engineering, and AI domains
