Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error mitigation protocols for NISQ-era quantum processors
- Lead cross-functional research on quantum machine learning frameworks
- Publish breakthrough findings in Nature/Science journals and conferences
- Secure $1M+ in DoE/NSF grant funding for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD interns and postdoctoral researchers
- Partner with industry leaders to commercialize quantum applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Published research in quantum error correction or fault tolerance
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Experience with quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Track record of securing competitive research grants
