Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with experimental physics teams to translate theory into hardware
- Lead open-source quantum computing initiatives
- Publish research in Nature/Science journals and present at conferences
- Advise government agencies on quantum security standards
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum frameworks
- Published work in quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters
- Strong background in linear algebra and probability theory
- Track record of securing research grants (NSF/NIH preferred)
