Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for real-world applications in machine learning and cryptography
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists and software engineers to prototype quantum solutions
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Develop error-correction protocols for quantum systems at scale
- Collaborate with US Department of Energy on national quantum security initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
- Secure $5M+ in NSF and DARPA research grants annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (post-doc preferred)
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum simulation tools
- Experience with superconducting quantum hardware (IBM Rigetti preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into practical applications
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
