Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit stability in hybrid quantum-classical systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into scalable quantum architectures
- Lead research initiatives in topological quantum computing and fault-tolerant systems
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for advanced quantum research projects
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development in quantum technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing principles
- Publication record in top-tier quantum computing or theoretical computer science journals
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Track record of securing research funding from NSF, DARPA, or equivalent institutions
