Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing prototypes using IBM and Rigetti systems
- Develop error-correction protocols to advance quantum coherence thresholds
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define next-generation quantum processor specifications
- Secure $5M+ in DoE/NASA research grants for quantum supremacy projects
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing conferences (QIP, QCE)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical models into experimental implementations
- Security clearance eligibility for government-funded quantum initiatives
