Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for real-world applications in cryptography and optimization
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit performance on superconducting platforms
- Lead research initiatives to overcome quantum decoherence and error correction challenges
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international quantum computing conferences
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for predictive analytics and pattern recognition
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise graduate-level quantum computing projects
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithm design (QAOA, VQE, Shor's algorithm implementation)
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong publication record in quantum information science or quantum computing
- Experience working with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical quantum applications
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex quantum concepts to diverse audiences
