Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop novel error-correction techniques to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure $5M+ in research grants through NSF and DoD partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdocs in quantum information theory
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate research into commercial applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Published 10+ peer-reviewed papers in quantum computing or quantum information
- Expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil)
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong track record of securing federal research grants
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for NP-hard computational challenges
