Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing systems
- Publish breakthrough research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Develop error-correction techniques for practical quantum computing applications
- Collaborate with hardware teams to improve qubit stability and scalability
- Secure $1M+ in annual research grants from government and private sources
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum simulation frameworks (Cirq, Quipper)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Proven ability to secure competitive research funding
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with cloud quantum computing platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
