Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Develop error-corrected quantum systems with fault-tolerance thresholds exceeding 99.9%
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Physical Review X)
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from DARPA, NSF, and private foundations
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
- Collaborate with Intel, IBM, and Google on quantum hardware integration
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computational Science, or related field (or equivalent industry breakthrough)
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction and topological quantum computing
- Proven track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning and quantum neural networks
- Ability to secure federal and private research funding
- Fluency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
