Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for energy optimization challenges
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical implementations
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and industry conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of scientific excellence
- Secure federal and private research grants to advance quantum energy applications
- Develop patentable quantum computing methodologies for sustainable energy systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and computational complexity
- Experience with quantum simulators and real quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding and lead technical teams
- Passion for applying quantum computing to climate change solutions
