Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions into existing AI and cloud infrastructure
- Lead research projects on quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Publish findings in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Develop quantum software tools and libraries for internal and partner use
- Stay current with emerging quantum technologies and assess their commercial viability
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to technical documentation
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum mechanics, linear algebra, and computational complexity
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications or open-source contributions
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ) preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced R&D environments
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- US citizenship or permanent residency required due to government contract work
