Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop quantum error correction protocols and fault-tolerant systems
- Lead research initiatives targeting quantum advantage in practical industry applications
- Publish findings in leading scientific journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to cross-functional innovation workshops
- Secure external funding through NSF and DoE grant applications
- Develop quantum simulation frameworks for pre-prototype testing
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum computing specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in high-performance computing environments and parallel processing
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex theoretical concepts into practical solutions
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Quantum, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Collaborative mindset with proven ability to work across interdisciplinary teams
