Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to validate quantum processors through benchmarking
- Author high-impact publications and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and similar venues
- Develop quantum machine learning frameworks for real-world applications
- Secure external funding through NSF grants and industry partnerships
- Mentor PhD researchers and supervise quantum computing interns
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science with 3+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and circuit design
- Published work in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals or equivalent
- Proficiency in linear algebra, probability theory, and quantum mechanics
- Experience with quantum simulation tools (QASM, Quil, or QASM+)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical algorithm optimization
- Ability to translate complex quantum concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders
