Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for scalable quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to prototype quantum-mechanical computing architectures
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Publish findings in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, Quantum) and secure patents
- Mentor PhD researchers and contribute to quantum computing curriculum development
- Secure federal grants and industry partnerships for quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computational Physics, or Computer Science with quantum specialization
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or quantum algorithms
- Expertise in quantum simulation frameworks and high-performance computing
- Strong mathematical foundations in linear algebra, probability, and information theory
- Experience securing NSF or DoD research grants
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization tools
- Track record of translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
