Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation challenges
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit stability in NISQ-era systems
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum-classical hybrid architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in leading journals and present at IEEE/APS conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to translate theoretical models into physical qubit designs
- Secure $2M+ in government grants for quantum computing initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum computing
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Qiskit)
- Strong background in machine learning for quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure NSF/DOE quantum computing grants
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems
