Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for practical commercial applications
- Lead cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into scalable quantum circuits
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Publish high-impact research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype quantum-accelerated solutions
- Identify emerging quantum threats and develop defensive cryptographic strategies
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information science fundamentals
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum specialization
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, etc.)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum hardware
- Proficiency in Python and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated ability to secure federal research grants or industry partnerships
