Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and industry conferences
- Collaborate with hardware teams to bridge theoretical models with practical implementations
- Secure federal and private funding through competitive grant proposals
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum information theory
- Drive intellectual property creation with at least 3 patents annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (Shor's, Grover's, VQE)
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Experience with quantum error correction and fault tolerance protocols
- Demonstrated ability to secure $1M+ in research funding
- Knowledge of cryogenic engineering and superconducting qubit systems
- Exceptional problem-solving skills for NP-hard computational challenges
