Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic environments
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into scalable architectures
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Secure $2M+ in government and private research grants for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead cross-functional quantum research pods
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published peer-reviewed papers on quantum error correction or variational algorithms
- Expertise in quantum circuit optimization and compiler design
- Deep understanding of superconducting qubit systems or topological quantum computing
- Proven track record securing government research grants (NSF, DARPA, DOE)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical-quantum hybrid systems
- Ability to work in cryogenic lab environments and cleanroom protocols
