Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum computing architectures to overcome current scalability limitations
- Lead cross-functional research teams to prototype quantum hardware-software interfaces
- Publish breakthrough findings in leading journals (Nature, Science, etc.) and present at global conferences
- Secure multi-million dollar research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private sector partners
- Collaborate with Fortune 500 companies to solve real-world quantum computing challenges
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of research experience
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes and topological quantum computing
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quil, Cirq) and simulation frameworks
- Proven track record of publishing high-impact quantum research papers
- Experience with superconducting qubits, trapped ions, or photonic quantum systems
- Demonstrated ability to secure competitive research funding ($500K+ grants)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical computing optimization
