Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional research projects in quantum error correction and hardware-software co-design
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum processors with 100+ qubit stability
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor PhD candidates and lead quantum computing workshops for industry partners
- Secure $1M+ in government grants (DARPA, NSF) for quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent industry breakthroughs)
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Proven track record of publishing in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error correction techniques
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket)
- Strong background in machine learning and classical high-performance computing
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with demonstrated impact in quantum algorithm development
