Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional R&D projects in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure and manage research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development
- Stay current with emerging quantum technologies through continuous learning
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Published record in quantum computing or quantum information science
- Strong mathematical background in linear algebra, probability, and complexity theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, trapped ions, photonic)
- Proven ability to secure and manage research funding
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to experimental rigor
