Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Lead experiments on superconducting qubit platforms with >99.9% fidelity
- Develop error mitigation protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware teams to co-design quantum processors
- Publish findings in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE QCE conferences
- Secure $1M+ in DoE/NASA grants for quantum research initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing algorithm development
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum SDKs
- Published peer-reviewed papers on quantum error correction
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems or ion trap technologies
- Deep understanding of quantum complexity classes (BQP, QMA)
- Strong Python/C++ programming skills with scientific computing libraries
- Ability to secure government research funding
