Responsibilities
- Architect quantum algorithms for 2026-era applications in cryptography, materials science, and AI optimization
- Lead a 15-member cross-functional research team in quantum hardware-software integration
- Secure $5M+ in annual research funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Develop fault-tolerant quantum computing protocols targeting 1,000+ qubit systems
- Publish 4+ high-impact papers annually in Nature/Science journals
- Collaborate with NASA and DOE on quantum simulation for space exploration and clean energy
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and establish industry-academic internship programs
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Theoretical Physics, or Computer Science with 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven track record of publishing in top-tier quantum computing journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Expertise in quantum error correction, superconducting qubits, and quantum machine learning frameworks
- Successful history of securing $2M+ in research grants or equivalent funding
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and high-performance computing environments
- Demonstrated leadership in managing interdisciplinary teams of 10+ researchers
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain DOE/NASA Level 3 clearance
