Responsibilities
- Architect and execute quantum computing research roadmaps aligned with 2026 technological milestones
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing fault-tolerant quantum processors and algorithms
- Collaborate with industry partners to identify commercial applications for quantum technologies
- Secure and manage R&D funding from government grants and private investors
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and industry conferences
- Mentor PhD-level researchers and cultivate a culture of quantum innovation
- Translate theoretical quantum models into practical hardware implementations
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of research experience
- Proven track record of publishing quantum computing research in Nature/Science journals
- Expertise in quantum error correction, superconducting qubits, or topological quantum computing
- Experience securing $5M+ in government research grants (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Deep understanding of quantum machine learning and cryptography protocols
- Strong leadership skills managing technical teams of 15+ researchers
