Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead cross-functional teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with industry partners to identify commercial quantum applications
- Secure research funding through NSF and DARPA proposals
- Mentor junior researchers and publish 2+ annual high-impact papers
- Translate quantum prototypes into production-ready solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or related field (10+ years experience)
- Proven track record in quantum algorithm development
- Expertise in superconducting qubit systems or ion trap technologies
- Strong publication record in Nature/Science journals
- Experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit)
- Demonstrated leadership in complex R&D environments
- Knowledge of quantum error correction architectures
