Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead research in quantum error correction techniques to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop scalable quantum processor architectures
- Publish high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of innovation and scientific excellence
- Secure external funding through government grants and private partnerships
- Develop roadmaps for quantum computing applications in finance, pharmaceuticals, and AI
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in quantum algorithm development or quantum hardware research
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq) and quantum simulation frameworks
- Strong publication record in quantum computing or adjacent fields
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and manage research projects
- Familiarity with quantum hardware platforms (superconducting, trapped ions, photonics)
- Demonstrated success in securing research funding from NSF, DARPA, or similar institutions
