Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in finance, logistics, and materials science
- Lead quantum hardware-software integration projects using superconducting qubits and photonic systems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing systems
- Collaborate with AI teams to create hybrid quantum-classical machine learning frameworks
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and private sector partners
- Mentor PhD researchers and publish 3+ high-impact papers annually
- Establish industry partnerships with Fortune 500 companies for quantum adoption pilots
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum error correction
- Publication record in Nature/Science journals or equivalent top-tier venues
- Hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Deep understanding of quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Experience leading multidisciplinary R&D teams with $1M+ budgets
