Responsibilities
- Lead quantum algorithm research and development for next-gen computing systems
- Manage cross-functional teams of quantum physicists and software engineers
- Design and execute experimental protocols on quantum hardware platforms
- Collaborate with industry partners to commercialize quantum solutions
- Secure federal and private research funding through grant proposals
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present at international conferences
- Develop roadmap for quantum computing integration with classical systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience in quantum computing research
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science/Physical Review
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience managing R&D teams with $1M+ budgets
- Strong knowledge of quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Ability to translate theoretical concepts into practical applications
- Clearance for DOE/NASA research projects (or ability to obtain)
