Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable quantum computing architectures using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum operations
- Lead cross-functional teams in quantum algorithm development and optimization
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical computing systems
- Research emerging quantum technologies and publish breakthrough findings in top-tier journals
- Secure $5M+ in research grants and patents for quantum innovations
- Mentor junior quantum engineers and establish departmental best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven expertise in quantum algorithm development (QAOA, VQE, Grover's)
- Published research in Nature/Science or equivalent journals on quantum computing
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, D-Wave)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Strong background in high-performance computing architectures
- Ability to secure federal and private research funding
