Responsibilities
- Develop and execute 5-year technology roadmaps for AI, quantum computing, and biotech convergence
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with MIT/Caltech research partners
- Secure $10M+ in federal innovation grants and corporate partnerships
- Translate emerging scientific papers into patentable commercial applications
- Present disruptive tech strategies to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Mentor a team of PhD-level futurists and prototype engineers
- Anticipate regulatory shifts and ethical implications of emerging technologies
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering (or equivalent breakthrough portfolio)
- 7+ years in R&D strategy at FAANG or quantum computing firms
- Published 3+ papers in Nature/Science or granted 5+ AI/quantum patents
- Expertise in federated learning, quantum error correction, or synthetic biology
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Deep understanding of DARPA/IARPA funding mechanisms
- Ability to distill complex scientific concepts for executive audiences
