Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams to develop breakthrough technologies targeting 2026 market readiness
- Conduct horizon scanning and technology trend analysis across quantum, AI, biotech, and climate tech domains
- Design strategic roadmaps for product integration of emerging technologies
- Forge partnerships with academic institutions and government innovation labs
- Present technology forecasts to C-suite executives and board members
- Manage $5M+ R&D budget allocation for future technology initiatives
- Champion ethical frameworks for next-gen AI and autonomous systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years experience
- Proven track record in commercializing emerging technologies (quantum/AI/biotech)
- Deep expertise in at least two of: quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, synthetic biology
- Experience securing federal grants (DARPA, NSF) or venture capital for R&D
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Exceptional strategic communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluency in Python, TensorFlow, and quantum computing frameworks
