Responsibilities
- Architect and implement the 2026 innovation roadmap, aligning with long-term business objectives
- Lead cross-functional teams to prototype and scale breakthrough technologies (AI, quantum computing, biotech)
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging trends with 2026 commercialization potential
- Drive strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry pioneers
- Present innovation frameworks to C-suite and board stakeholders
- Manage $5M+ R&D budget with rigorous ROI analysis
- Champion agile methodologies in experimental development cycles
Qualifications
- 15+ years in strategic innovation, R&D leadership, or technology transformation
- Proven track record of commercializing emerging technologies
- Deep expertise in at least two of: AI/ML, quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic engineering
- Exceptional systems thinking and scenario planning capabilities
- Advanced degree in relevant field (PhD/MSc preferred)
- Experience scaling teams from 5 to 50+ innovators
- Published thought leadership in innovation strategy (Harvard Sloan, MIT Tech Review, etc.)
- Certification in agile/Scrum methodologies
