Role Overview:
The Weekend Operations Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance, scaling, and troubleshooting of our critical production environments during off-peak hours. You will ensure zero downtime and seamless user experiences while collaborating with our support and development teams.
Responsibilities
- Execute scheduled maintenance and deployments on our cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure) during weekend windows.
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and logs to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Investigate and resolve technical tickets and incidents escalated from the support team.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment pipelines and improve CI/CD workflows.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to security best practices and coding standards.
- Document system configurations, runbooks, and incident reports for the on-call team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems administration, or DevOps.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or Java with a focus on backend systems.
- Deep knowledge of Linux system administration and shell scripting.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, specifically AWS or Azure.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
