As a Weekend Community Coordinator, you'll work Saturdays and Sundays in dynamic settings like farmers markets, cultural festivals, and neighborhood outreach programs. Perfect for students, parents, or career-changers seeking work-life balance without sacrificing professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate community engagement events and workshops across Detroit neighborhoods
- Coordinate volunteer teams for weekend initiatives (15-20 volunteers per shift)
- Collect and document resident feedback through digital surveys and in-person interviews
- Support local business partnerships and promote neighborhood economic development
- Manage event logistics including setup, vendor coordination, and resource allocation
- Prepare weekly impact reports highlighting community metrics and success stories
- Collaborate with city officials and nonprofit organizations on collaborative projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or community outreach experience
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to work every weekend (Saturday & Sunday, 8 AM - 5 PM)
- Proficiency with mobile data collection tools and CRM software
- Valid Michigan driver's license with reliable transportation
- Knowledge of Detroit neighborhoods and community resources
- CPR/First Aid certification (will provide training if needed)
