Responsibilities
- Perform complex laboratory tests including hematology, chemistry, and microbiology
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment (e.g., analyzers, microscopes)
- Ensure strict adherence to CLIA and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Accurately document and report test results to healthcare providers
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize lab operations
- Participate in quality control initiatives and continuous improvement
- Train junior staff on new procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
- ASCP or AMT certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical laboratory experience
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid Virginia state laboratory license
- Experience with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) preferred
