Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients via wheelchair/stretcher between departments using hospital protocols
- Assist patients with mobility transfers and maintain dignity during movement
- Verify patient identification and transport orders before each movement
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status and needs
- Maintain clean, organized transport equipment and designated areas
- Respond promptly to emergency transport requests with calm professionalism
- Document all transport activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous healthcare experience preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to stand/walk 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Must have reliable transportation and weekend availability
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (training provided)
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environment
