Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in the emergency department during night and weekend shifts
- Assess patient conditions and administer medications per physician orders
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Respond to emergency situations with rapid assessment and intervention
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active North Carolina RN license required
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently during low-census periods
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs
