Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and ECG procedures during overnight hours
- Assist physicians with emergency procedures and trauma cases in weekend night shifts
- Administer medications and injections following strict protocols
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with real-time documentation
- Coordinate patient flow between emergency department and overnight care units
- Provide patient education on discharge instructions and medication management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using HIPAA-compliant communication tools
Qualifications
- Active California Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS/ACLS certification required (PALS preferred)
- Ability to work independently during low-census overnight periods
- Strong attention to detail in high-pressure weekend night scenarios
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient volumes during weekend shifts
- Experience with Epic EMR system or similar healthcare IT platforms
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
