Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes using cryogenic systems
- Collaborate with AI specialists to develop hybrid quantum-classical computing frameworks
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science journals and present at major conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise PhD-level interns
- Secure government and private sector research grants totaling $2M+
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing environments
- Experience with superconducting qubit systems or ion trap technologies
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding through NSF/NIH/DARPA proposals
