This hybrid position offers the flexibility to work 3 days remotely while engaging deeply with our innovation ecosystem at our state-of-the-art San Francisco headquarters. You'll lead horizon scanning initiatives, develop scenario-planning frameworks, and pioneer methodologies that position us as industry pioneers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct horizon scanning to identify disruptive technologies and market shifts through 2026
- Develop strategic foresight frameworks for product innovation and market expansion
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align teams on future opportunities
- Produce trend reports and scenario-planning documents for executive leadership
- Partner with R&D to prototype future-facing solutions
- Represent Horizon Labs at global innovation forums and thought leadership events
- Mentor junior strategists in future-thinking methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futuristics, Innovation Management, or related field
- 5+ years in strategic foresight, innovation consulting, or R&D leadership
- Proven experience developing scenario-planning frameworks for 5+ year horizons
- Expertise in emerging technologies (AI, quantum computing, biotech)
- Exceptional storytelling skills with executive presentation experience
- Published thought leadership in innovation or future studies
- Proficiency in foresight tools (e.g., Delphi method, STEEP analysis)
- Portfolio demonstrating strategic impact from trend-to-market execution
