Responsibilities
- Lead horizon scanning and trend analysis to identify disruptive technologies and market shifts impacting 2026+ landscapes
- Develop and publish annual Future State Reports with data-driven predictions and strategic recommendations
- Design and facilitate cross-functional innovation workshops for executive leadership teams
- Quantify market opportunities and risks associated with emerging technologies (AI, quantum computing, biotech)
- Partner with R&D to align innovation portfolios with long-term strategic vision
- Present strategic insights to boards and investors as the primary futurist authority
- Establish KPI frameworks for measuring innovation ROI and future-readiness
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Futures Studies, Strategic Foresight, or related field (PhD preferred)
- 8+ years in strategic planning, innovation consulting, or futurist roles
- Proven track record of publishing influential trend analyses or scenario planning frameworks
- Expertise in technology forecasting methodologies (e.g., Delphi method, causal layered analysis)
- Exceptional executive communication skills with experience presenting to C-suite and boards
- Deep knowledge of emerging technologies and their societal implications
- Certification in strategic foresight (e.g., from University of Houston or similar institution)
- Portfolio demonstrating successful implementation of future-oriented strategies
